ALONE or ISOLATED?

ALONE or ISOLATED?

Our Little Sunflower characters had a puzzling quest! It was a story about the differences between being isolated and choosing to be alone … and how to tell the difference? How one, or the other, might feel. The Little Sunflower characters, Milo Mouse, Lucas Lion, Tobey Tortoise, Harriet Hare, Deanna Dog, Kate Cat and Mickey Monkey had a puzzle to solve and a lot to discuss!

It certainly struck a chord with a child A, who, after our session, asked the teacher at break time, did she think that child B, playing alone with the bricks on the mat was ok? …. Did she think he was happy on his own or not? Gently coaxed to find out, he discovered that child B would like company, so company was arranged for him. Child A was pleased that he had made a difference in someone else’s happiness and Child B was encouraged that someone else was looking out for him.

A lesson to us all in thoughtfulness and kindness.

By the way, Child A was 6 and Child B was 5!

If this one little instance creates a positive memory of consideration for each other and thoughtfulness and kindness then …………

Keep going Little Sunflower …. You are making a difference!
